I am going to hopefully order some parts come monday sometime. I am thinking about an 18x12 rim with a 335 tire, DSE mini tub and a Ridetech suspension. I will be using my stock 12 bolt for the setup and was not planning on narrowing housing to save some money. Is it necessary to narrow the rear axle or no? My wheel manufacturer was going to sell me standard 18x9.5 rims with the standard backspacing all camaros run. Until I decided to mini tub. But if I want to widen to 18x12's its a matter of adding 2.5 backspacing to the 9.5" rims to make them 12".

I only have once chance to do this right, so what are your suggestions. Should I narrow the rear any, and if so, how far can I go and still retain the stock perches for the ride tech kit?

Thanks, Erik

You don't need to narrow the rear end.. Just like you said, it's just a matter of more back spacing.
If you do narrow the housing, that'll change the look of the wheel by adding front spacing. So if you want a deeper dish then you'll want to narrow it. I'm not sure how narrow you can go till interference with brackets - but unless you like a radical look, narrowing just an inch per side will get you an aggressive appearance in my opinion.

If I had it to do it all over again id probably narrow the rear end. Even one more inch of lip can make a dramatic difference.
