I am trying to avoid buying new glass for my 67 if possible, Has anyone used this kit from Eastwood http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/...iProductID=2024 (http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=2024&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=596&iSubCat=597&iProductID=2024)
If so how where the results? I have scratches along with overspray on my windows, the previous owner has planned on replacing the glass...

The glass polishing kits work well as long as you can't catch your thumbnail on the glass. if you can feel the scratch when you move your nail over it you will leave a wave in the glass. If you aren't concerned with it then it will look ok from 20 ft. For side glass it isn't as much of a problem but on the windsheild it will drive you nuts.

You never realize the difference in the looks of new glass until you get the car completely done and you park next to someone who put new glass in. There is just something about new glass that is like new paint. It shines better!!

If the scratches aren't too bad you maybe able to get away without ever noticing that much. New glass is about $700 and the cost of resurfacing is around $100 or more and a lot of elbow grease unless it is all minor scracthes

I started to clean my glass up and after seeing the distortion in the driver side glass I went with new and have been so happy with the decision that I am glad I didn't spend another 50 hrs trying to make old glass look new again.

Auto Glass City in Minnesota can get you clear, tinted or smoked glass and I can tell you that with the right color of car the smoked glass is very complimentary compared to tinted or clear.

Goodluck in your decision , it is a hard one to make due to the expense and the fact that labor for you will be just time which most of us have plenty of.

The number to Auto Glass City is somewhere in the archives here but if you can't find it I will find it for you.

You can get overspray off with by keeping the window wet by spraying it with water and rubbing with a fine steel wool

Thanks for the info,:headbang: the more I think about it the more I lean towards new glass. I can just keep the orginal glass for another project. I will do a search for Auto Glass City. The only prices I have gotten so far are from Rick's First Gen.

were can you get new glass or what can fix my prob. the guy before me had used a grinder inside and the sparks hit the windows. So now my 2 pass side windows have etches and burn marks. On some spots you can drag a rag across the window to clean it and ithe rag gets caught. What will repair the window or who sells repalcement windows

Yes, Here is a link to the original suppliers for first generation camaro's
http://www.camaros.org/glass.shtml The original suppliers was either LOF or PPG, and it is still available. The cost is much more, but it is high quality glass. Here is a link to PPG http://www.ppgprostars.com/default.htm
