The above pictures are of the fuel pump out of my Aeromotive 340 in tank pump for a 69 Camaro. It's brand new and I pulled it just because I was curious on the pump and baffling. My question is why are the wires so long and is one hose clamp enough to hold this thing on for the life of the pump? Will the torque of the pump try and twist it? Am I over thinking this?

Its a universal kit. That kit will fit a tank from 5.5" to 11" deep. So why the extra length wires? to accommodate those depths that the pump can be used in. Will one clamp hold? It has on mine. I have their new 450 pump for my current project and don't expect a problem. Put another one on if you'd like peace of mind.

It's a direct fit, not a universal "phantom". I would add another clamp but it is unfortunately pretty difficult to find a 1/4" or 5/16 stainless clamp that will fit.

Isn't there suppose to be a yellow round foam bladder thing?

Oh i see why...its a stealth and not a phantom?

Yes it's a Stealth. What you see is what comes out of the baffled tank. There is no foam of any kind like the Phantom but the pump itself is the same 340

I'm thinking the weight of the pump is mostly hanging from the short line off the top of the pump. The larger clamp probably just keeps it from swinging around.

I guess my main concern is the torque of the pump motor eventually loosening the clamp and the wires flopping around in the fuel

you might put a couple of zip ties on it also if you are worried
