I'd like to add a simple, one button remote start to my camaro during the LS swap, and thought I would ask about recommendations. I have no need for an alarm or any of its functions, and only want it to remote start the car and come with a simple fob. I will do all wiring and installation. Any experiences or recommendations to share?

This is your best simple option, although I dont think these have a manual transmission mode if it matters to you.

I'm running an auto. Amazon certainly has some terrible reviews about the 4105V because of the lack of instructions. Any personal reviews here?

Viper products are to be dealer installed. They have those instructions for a reason. Dealers have all of the detailed info through directechs, which only dealers can access

Avital makes a nice product. I installed a security system with a remote start and couldn't be happier. Model 4113 seems like it would fit your needs.

Interesting. My experience with Avital is that they have very thorough documentation regarding installation and operation.

they both have the same style wiring diagram. You just have to know how to interpret it and the wiring schematic of your particluar car. They don't want their remote starts marketed as a DIY.

The avital is pretty cheap and has the tiny little button I was looking for. Since this is for a connect and cruise computer setup, I won't use most of the wires. I may just get it to honk the horn to tell me it took the remote signal. Thank you for the suggestion, for 40 bucks I will go for the 4113.
