New here and freshly starting a modern Trans Am inspired build on a 1968 Mustang coupe. I'm pretty set on my first step being a suspension upgrade to the full Hotchkis TVS system and maybe traction bars as well but I'm trying to decide on wheels as well. I love the look of the ET III wheels http://www.team3wheels.com/lt_iii.html but don't know if 17" or 18" would function/look best. Also hoping to plastidip them black. If anyone has any pics or general input it'd be much appreciated. Excited to join the ranks!

What brakes are you planning? A lot of big brake kits don't fit behind 17s. With that being said I like the look of psengineering TA IIs better then the ET IIIs. No ring around the lug nuts looks cleaner and more vintage.

I really like minilites and have a real UK set on order right now. I'd be sure to see real examples of what you're buying in the diameter you want. Every manufacturer has their own spin on the original design and some don't scale up to 17-18" very well (IMO). Either the spokes get too long or the lips get to thick.
FYI The wheels that PSE builds are in a different class than the Chinese Team3 stuff.

So PSE is worth the extra $? Do they hold up better under stress? Better materials?

PSE are FINE wheels. Ran them for years on my Vintage Race Car.
Unless things have drastically changed don't get in any hurry to get em as Phil never got in a hurry to make em!

So what are the largest brakes I could fit on a 17" wheel? I was hoping for 12-13" rotors.

PSE was bought out by Vintage Wheel Works.
