Just bought a turbo kit from ProTour2V for my 69 Caprice project that is getting a 4.8/4L60 in it. Turbo is an S-475 T6 1.1, wondering on if I should do the 476 with race cover upgrade right away to get the spool down or if I should just step down to a 75mm turbo. Plans are daily driver, light drag racing and light autocross. Also what cam specs are recommended? Which converter should I run as a 35-3800 should be in now, but if I get lower spool engagement I could get away with less. New to the turbo world and just want to get this right. Thanks

If that's a stock 4l60 you may want to limit your power output if you want it to survive.

I'll keep the power levels within reason for this year until I can go through the trans.

My suggestion is to keep researching before you start buying parts. The turbine and housing will affect spool more than the compressor side. Search the Forced induction area on LS1tech and Yellow Bullet to find out what people are using for 4.8 combos. I also agree with the above posts relating to the 4L60e. To take advantage of an S475 your power levels will require a heavy duty trans build probably to the point that a 4L80e makes more financial sense.
