I have the DSE speed kit with coil overs for my front suspension in my '68 firebird. I was wondering if it would be ridiculous to run air ride in the rear suspension for the adjustability or if I should just run a 4 link. My cars going to be used for driving around town 2-4 hour long trips. Any thoughts?

Airsprings or ShockWaves will give you the best of all worlds. You will be able to adjust the air pressure to accommodate any load placed in the car [passengers, fuel, luggage], you can adjust the shock valving to tune ride quality and handling performance, and you can adjust ride height for driving, cruising, or parking.

Some will tell you that air suspension is a compromise on the race track. They are the ones who have not followed my Mustang around the track. The tunability of an air suspension makes it almost an unfair advantage.

I have set up many cars/trucks with Air-Ride in the rear only. My DD 70 C10 is that way. There's no loss of performance or handling, and ride quality may be better. I'd do it.

We are in the process of putting together a 67 Nova wagon for our shop/parts delivery car. We have Ridetech single adjustable (HQ series) coil-overs on the front, and will be putting a Ridetech 4-link with HQ series Shockwaves on the back. That way we can compensate for added weight in the cargo area while delivering parts, but have the stance, ride, & handling that we are after.

Thanks for the replies! Still not 100% sure on what I'm going to do but I'm liking the idea of adjustability at the touch of a button.

Love my RideTech Shockwaves! Great Ride and sexy stance on demand.

I use air ride on all my cars, and wouldn't have it no other way. One of my cars I put over 100k miles on it while I had air ride on it without any problems. I drive the cars all year round in all weather conditions.

CoolRide /parallel 4 link made bolt on for my 78C10,had CoolRide on rear of my 71 Monte, gonna have it on my Caprice.
Was planning on air on Monza, but packaging has been an issue. So I have been thinking about CoilOvers from Ridetech.
But times and plans may change. But for ride and handling, you cant beat air. When the car turns and sets in a curve you cant believe just how solid and stable the vehicle will be.
