Hi I am new here. Building a 72 vega with a 5.3 and a 3 link rear suspension full frame. I finished the 3 link and used all 70 durometer poly bushings. For the fixed side and the adjustable side instead of Heims.

my idea for the watts link. Is to use 2 flanged oilite bronze bushings 1" OD x 3/4"ID x 1 1/2" long in the center (chassis mounted) rocker(football). On the link I am thinking about 12" long. And instead of Heims use a the same poly from my 3 link. And making one side fixed and the other adjustable.

The he only thing I am not sure of is how the poly will perform on a watts link I see everyone uses heims. This is a street car 90 percent of the time. And I already have everything I need to make the watts. Except for the bronze bushes which I need to order. I have lots of dom left and lots of 2" polyurathane bushing material.

Hope to hear some feedback thanks!

On the Watts Link set-ups we manufacture, we use Poly Bushings on the arms. Never had a failure that I'm aware of

So does whiteline on the S197 watts. Poly panhard bars are everywhere and hold up fine and now you have two more bushing to carry the lateral load.

Thanks for the quick reply BMR SALES. I was looking through your site (actually almost got lost lot of great products especially the backhalf assembly's).

The watts link I seen on your site looks to me it uses poly on one side of the link and heims on the other. Or do you do polys on both ends also?

Thanks for the chiming in and looking to help building my own instead of writing up a sales pitch like some do on other forums I have noticed!

Never really though of that actually. My concern was that the poly might not allow enough articulation for the watts. But 70 durometer is actually reasonably soft. I'm thinking I will be ok with the poly. Thanks for pointing out the white line product makes me feel a little more confident that the poly will work.
