Hello fellow Buick guy,
On my GS I have used Nitto NT-01 drag radials (285-40-18) with good success. I substitute them for my normal Nitto NT-01 295-35-18. I have two sets of identical 9.5" wide rims, and the tires look virtually the same on the car. The drag radials are a bit taller and narrower, as the numbers would indicate. But the hook is night and day different, even on the street. I can yank the left front wheel a bit with the drag radials at the strip while running high 11s. I have also driven in the rain with them with no problems.

I didn't know Nitto made a drag radial version of the NT01's. I thought the NT01's were road coarse tires and they only had the NT05r and NT555r as drag radials. Do you have a link to them?
