Finally getting around to finish up the wiring on my Mustang. No sensors are currently connected, I have the cluster connected to the brain and that has power, ignition, ground and the two switches connected to it.

I first hooked it up I put it in demo mode to see the gauges light up etc. I then was able to scroll through the setup menu. Turned everything off and disconnected the battery for the night. Today I hooked the battery up and without the key in the ignition it started to "sweep" and go into demo mode. I've gone through and checked all the wiring and it has constant from the battery and the ignition works with the key.

Now when I connect it manually to the battery both gauges in the info center say " No Data from controller, check wiring " then it goes back into demo mode.

I bypassed the aaw harness and hooked up directly to the battery and used a fused toggle for the ignition. Still doing the same thing.

The only thing that DD says in the manual is the SW2 switch grounded out, replace or disconnect. I took it out completely and still the same thing, took out SW1 and nothing.

Any ideas before I ship it back to Dakota Digital?

I had a similar issue when i installed mine. I didn't have a good ign source. Try running a good ign directly from the fuse box. If you just have a batt source, it will stay in demo mode. What wire are you running to the ign space on the controller? I think if you get a good ign source feed, it will work correctly.

I will give it a look again, I was using the wire AAW had recommended with the harness. There are spots on the fuse panel that are open.

Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try in about 15-20 min.

Spork, when I was having issues, I was trying to use the ign wire from the AAW instrument cluster wiring. My problem ended up being one of my reverse bulbs was shorting out my instrument fuse. Once I got that issue worked out, it was fine.

Tried it and no luck, the display said the same thing " No data connection from control, check wiring or broken wires "

I think it needs to be sent back for a fixin' too bad its buried underneath the dash and I just put in the vintage air unit...

Yeah, I would definitely call their tech tomorrow. They were pretty helpful on the questions I had during my install. Good Luck!

I had 2 problems with mine. One the same as you and even tho the wiring harness said hot it shut off with the key. The second problem was I used a longer ether net cable. They are not all the same. when I went back to their cable it worked.

Mine worked with a longer cable, the problems came after.

I just picked it up today I sent it back a couple weeks ago and thanks to Jason @ DD in the tech department he got it all fixed up and working. Turns out the "BIM" input had cracked and part of it fell into the housing, shorted something out.
