So I am slowly gathering the parts for the brake Corvette brake conversion on my El Camino and I am wondering if there is any difference in brake fluids ? I realize there is probably a quality difference when going from the store brand to some other quality brand but I am wondering what is a quality brake fluid for a daily driver ?
There's a spec that's newish, but already more than a few years old, called 5.1 (like DOT 3, DOT4, and the dreaded Dot 5- this is 5.1, very different from 5, chemically, more an evolution of 3 & 4). This is a fluid that from everything I read should be the ideal.
Anything that has Race in the label usually does not do well in daily use in humid climates...or even do well left in there over an "off season" in storage.
