Mine might look like a rat rod, but I claim it is pro-touring.
I am not sure you can combine to two very well. I think you would end up with some sort of street-fighter.

I'm in the same boat. I guess I don't see my therapy program as a rat rod, though. Maybe 'distressed'.

After doing a higher dollar build, I want to do a track rat. I want a Pontiac Ventura with nice patina and a 5.3 liter or 6.0 liter and all of the Speedtech stuff underneath, full cage, kirkey's etc. Don't know if you would call it a Rat rod, but I would call it a track rat.

Something like this? Full float 9 inch with truck arms, some old stock car stuff up front...

Define "rat rod".... Do you mean a poorly built POS that is hacked together with junk and unsafe and has spider webz and skullz and iron crosses all over it? Or do you mean a car that doesn't have shiny paint?
Most people call anything without shiny paint a "rat rod".....
Oh no, sounds like another definition delema...

Distressed touring, hmmm...
So a car that really moves and can corner well but likes like dog squeezins'? Yup, that pretty much is the definition of my build.

When I start my 70 Malibu Chevelle project in a few years, i'm currently planning to leave it alone on the outside and most of the inside. Its really solid but its got 140K on the clock. It will be a budget build with a junkyard LS, nice suspension, brakes and 18's. Current plans are to go with as many used parts scoured from the net as I can find. Kind of a Pro Touring, budget street sleeper. It will probably be called project rustOmod.

It is still a long ways off, but this will be a little ratty.

I just mean something that you can take from Philly to LA. But that looks like a rat rod. How about this .. Any pre 1950 pro tourings? Model a's? Dodges? Etc?
