Hi all,

I found this gem of a site a few years ago.... Starting to tread carefully with my car on some repairs and get it ready for the family to start enjoying. Thought I would introduce my self again, being that I may be asking a few questions as I go along.

My name is Kyle, I have a 69 Camaro. Car was said to be out of California, we found it in an auction years ago. Since then it has been stashed in a garage. its one of those 10footers.

Im trying to do min repairs. I see these full restos on this site and that is awesome.!!! but for me I am trying to get the car drivable like I said so the family can enjoy it.

I would appreciate any suggestions and advice. Thank you all.)

Here are some pics,) not much has been done other than a lot of dings from storingthe car in varies locations,( I did redo the front with hothkis sway bar, springs, bushings, new shocks, last year added disc breaks.

At the moment I pulled up the carpet, nasty pitts, in the floor, so I am going to patch things up, re carpet, and run all new harness wires. I will be posting asking a question on what fiber glass is best for patching up the floor... so it begins...

I was going to suggest a weight saving steering wheel controller, but I see you have already installed one.

I would suggest that, after the minor repairs and maintenance are under control, you sit down and establish goals for the finished car. Is it a daily driver, a track car, an autocrosser, etc.. Then determine what modifications may be needed.

If it is a daily driver, you probably do not want to take out the back seat or install a full roll cage. But you may want to rebuild the suspension and perform the Guldstrand mod.

The important thing is to have a plan to avoid purchasing stuff you will eventually replace, like buying poly bushings and then later deciding you want Delalum bushings.

Thanks for the welcome. It's a casual weekend car, just something to drive on a nice day..to the store, work.

I agree with you 100% of the goals. It can get very over whelming. For ex. The flooring, I was deciding welding new metal but once you start there were do you stop.

So for now I'm going to fiber tech it, lay carpet. Run new wires and enjoy it a bit more, then perhaps move to the rear quarter or quarters. It still turns heads and is fun to drive.

Never heard of that mod, but will look i to it,
