whats more important to you .. suspension and braking or power? having an updated suspension (tubular arms, coil overs, trailing arms etc) or power .. weather its a stroker or an LS? which would you rather have? if you had to choose. less power more handing? more power less handling?

You can always go fast in an under-powered car, but you need to be able stop a powerful car

.. i am guessing since this is a pro touring forum lol most guys will agree on suspension being most important as would I.

Definitely handling for a PT car. Handling is the number one priority in my book.

Power is good. Brakes are nice.

Suspension and Braking.

That's not even a discussion on this board.

Heck I hope for at least decent power while maybe not the killer power while getting the car handling.
My time and my money are scarce, so every step MUST be considered and managed at same time. In other words doing it more than once is wasted time and money. Besides if I am working on old car freshening the suspension and upgrading should be hand in hand. And as for power say I am building an engine, why not build thought bottom end, top with get by heads a milder valvetrain and wait for later funds too update/upgrade that part.
Like used eagle rods and forged pistons in engine over stock /cast but use best OE head I can afford and biggest can I can afford, then upgrade later on.
Plan your work and work your plan, and in that plan ,there is a budget.

My 92 Formula with 300 rwhp is way more fun to drive than the old 86 Turbo Buick with 400 rwhp.

Iv'e had both. My old Nova was a high 11 second car with low 11 second potential but had that pro street feel. No swaybars, stock suspension, 90/10's, 3.5" skinnies etc. It was fun in a straight line but not a lot of fun otherwise. Probably north of 500hp and 7500 RPM fun with a 5 speed in a 3200 lb car. It was by all accounts a fast street car but not fun to tour in.

My GTO is probably "underpowered" I temporarily have a turd 455 that makes a ton of TQ but is out of breath by 4500 RPM. It might pull down 350-375hp and in a 3800 lb car that's not a lot.

That said Iv'e got the SC&C stage II with Ridetech HQ's, Kore3 C6 brakes and 18"s with Nitto555's in my GTO and its a ton of fun. WAY more fun than my old Nova with less power and it feels really fast even though it currently isn't. If I had to pick one or the other i'm going to go with less engine, better handling etc. My car is getting everything else before I build a monster engine for it.

For me I love handling. But as been said you have to stop sometime.
