custom trunk panel

ok everyone
looking for some help and pics. i want to do just 1 panel in the front of the trunk of my 69 nova to mount 2 amps and one sub. the sub i have is already boxed so i was going to mount that in the center and cut the panel around it and mount one amp on each side.
i plan on making a template from cardboard then using MDF for the panel wrapped with fabric
how do you secure the panel to the floor of the trunk?

A million ways to skin a cat but off the top of my head, I think I'd secure angle iron (actually, aluminum) to the trunk and floor and possibly to the bottom of the dash tray so its secured top and bottom with hardware and then secure the MDF to that. I hope that helps spur some idea options. Good luck!

We built a subfloor and built the sides and back wall from it.

If you don't want to drill I to the metal then get some mdf and adhere it to the metal with liquid nails or silicone. Then use that to drill your angle iron or wood bracing to.

Forgot to mention, we had to remove the spare tire loop in the bottom of the car to get the base to fit perfectly flat. We lined the full trunk and rest of the car for that matter with Second Skin Damplifier Pro. There is also a layer of Luxury Liner Pro on top of the Damplifier before the MDF. A bit overkill, but sounds dead solid! No screw or bolt protrusions into the metal.

Now to get rid of the rattle between the skin of the trunk lid and the bracing. I need to inject something between them because the seam sealer all came out when we blasted the car.

Couldn't you just replace the seam sealer that got blasted out?
I definitely can/could, but I want something that isn't very visible. The inner trunk is already painted so a light colored seam sealer is going to be very noticeable.

Man, you guys with the huge trunks are lucky. You have a big enough canvas to go crazy or keep it simple and still have a functional trunk.
