I did the search and couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for. I have a 68 Firebird Convertible with a hotchkis x brace and fuel injection with lines coming down and over the front of the tank. The car is also low.
I would love to go with a magnaflow transverse except I'm worried about the fuel lines and the x brace. Should I be worried about the lines?
Otherwise if you have a convertible Camaro or Firebird that sits low what are you using?
thanks

I used the Magnaflow transverse muffler system. LS1 with T56, transmission crossmember is lowest point. Very happy with how it fits

Did you run your fuel lines down the front of your tank? Was the rest of the system magnaflow or did you build it? I keep reading the x pipe wont be able to be used because of the x brace. Did you use an H or X?
thanks

I found out from various manufacturers that they have heard that many guys have had no problems with x or H pipe when using the hotchkis brace though they can't recommend its use. Now to find out about the muffler and the fuel lines.

Sorry for delay, I have Rock Valley (DSE) tank with lines out the front, no issue.

I have X pipe with a custom spaced factory brace. I had a Hotchkis brace also, cannot remember why we went with spaced factory, maybe something to do with park brake cables

In in the same boat! Hope the expert tech support over at HOTCHKIS AND HOLLEY have their thinking caps on for this one as i have yet to get a definate answer.
68 Camaro convertible LS2, Hooker LS swap plates12618HKR,Hooker 4l65 auto trans crossmember 12625HKR and Hooker mid length LS header Part# 2474-1HKR
QUESTION:
Will the X flow section of exhaust kit 3" header back exhaust system pn42504HKR interfere with the hotchkis x brace pn1404, i realize it will require use of hooker adapter pipe kit 42504HKR 3 in?

I found out the 2.5" kit works. The holley crossmember helped other than I had to cut it. I don't know about a 3" as I just didn't need that size. My e-brake cable runs below the x-brace. I posted pics in this forum. There may be a pic on there that would let you know what kind of clearance you have.

thanks Scott Hooker designer got back to me and stated that at the time of exhaust design this combination did not exist however i did find out that the hotchkis xbrace will accommodate 3 inch tubing with a straingt "H" set up bent up at a shop. I want mandrel bent system and no one in bakersfield can do at an affordable price for stainless. i may just have to see what return policy is and order up / mock up and see for myself when the time is near seeing how 3" works and just a matter of how xflow will or will not clear conv x brace.

I just realized that your car is a convertible and can save you a bunch of headaches by letting you know now that the Hooker 3" exhaust system is in no way compatible with the convertible X brace.
