Hey guys,

I found out that because of my brake setup I will not be able to fit the 17" wheels I had planned on the car, so I'm going to have to get some 18" wheels. My main question is on the width and tire size. I've seen several places telling me a 18" x 10" will fit on the back no problem, but will these fit on the fronts? I've been told that an 18" x 9.5" with 20mm offset will fit all four corners with a 245/45r18 up front and 285/35r18 out back, and one of the wheels I've looked at comes in this size. The other one my dad mentioned comes in 18" x 9" or 18" x 10" with 0mm offset. I would like to run the same size wheels on the front and rear so that I can rotate the tires as they wear, and bigger is better.

The car is a 69 Chevelle, full Ridetech stage II coilover system, C6 Vette brakes on front & LS1 Camaro brakes on the rear. The wheel tubs have not been modified yet and we will be running front inner fenders.

So what wheel/tire size should I be looking for? Any suggestions are appreciated, I don't wanna end up with a car that's undriveable, but I don't wanna jack the ride height way up either. Thanks!

I have a 69 and fit 18x10 back and 18x9 front no problem. I narrowed my rear axle but it isn't mini tubbed or anything like that except for a rolled lip. I would go with 295/40 or 305/40 rear tire. 35 series tires can look a little thin on the rear of chevelles in my opinion. In the front a 265/35 or 275/35. I don't want to give what offset to use or backspace because it don't remember mine exactly and it really would be best to measure. However these sizes should fit easily with the right offset. Tire size can be an opinion thing too.
