spring rates 68 camaro ls3

I have a 68 camaro with a LS3, t56, stock subframe. right now I have some careera coil overs up front with 450lb spring rate and don't know the name coil overs in the rear with 250lb spring rate. The front suspension is heidts upper arms and spindles. The rear is a TCI torque arm. I love the stance of my car right now. I like the ride, but I am thinking of going with a 500lb up front and a 300-350lb in the rear (not sure if they make a 300) The reason for this, is to try and make the suspension a little more stiff so on decent bumps the tires don't hit the fenders. Right now the coil overs are non-adjustable when it comes to the shocks. I have a upgraded sway bar but can't remember the size for the front. No sway bar in the rear. I want to get the car to the road course but with my kids and limited time, that could be a while before I get into the scene more so right now, its just a street car. But taking it to the track is the ultimate goal. My question is, would going with stiffer springs help or would I be more beneficial to get some adjustable shock coil overs? The weight in the rear is just a bare trunk, I will be adding some trunk panels to clean it up and maybe a subwoofer but most likely not, so there isn't much weight in the back.

I've got an LS3/4L65E combo in my 68 Camaro with Viking coil overs. I'm running the same setup as you are, 450 front 250 rear. I was told 550 were gonna be real stiff. I do have adjustable coil overs so that will make a difference. I haven't driven the car very much but they feel real good. No too stiff but I do have them set pretty soft right now.
I don't plan on taking the car to the track. I just wanted the ride height adjustability that coil overs give you. The ability to adjust rebound and compression is just a bonus. I'm sure down the road I will take it to a track day here and there but I'm not really planning on it.
I don't know what stage you are at with your car but I would say drive it for a while and see how it feels. Once you get the interior, glass, stereo system and a full gas tank it will add quite a bit of weight.

It's pretty much done, the car that is. I think I am leaning towards new adjustable compression coil overs
