Hello! I'm new to the forum but have been restoring cars for years. This is a great site with a lot of awesome builds. For the last few years I have been restoring a 67 mustang fastback. Although it looks way down the line with building, there is still plenty to do. Here are the highlights.

This is a San Jose built fastback - It's also a clone, not the real deal.

2012 supercharged coyote -625 HP
6 speed manual trans
ford 9" (3.89 gear)
rod and custom 4 link in the back
TCI rack and pinion in the front
Wilwood Disc brakes at all corners
Tanks - EFI tank
Branda fiberglass - with a lot of modification required
shaved drip rails
Narrowed bumpers- fit to the body
18 x 10 wheels in back 18 x 8 in front (fronts were narrowed)
2" mini tub
auto meter gauges
and the list goes on.

I'll load more photos later. Probably should go to work now...

You've got good taste! You should post some pictures of the rest of the cars in your garage too

Two pictures??!! What a tease... :)

What a stacked garage! 2 '67 Fastbacks, a 911 Turbo AND is that a GT40??

And by that I mean, welcome! You're clearly in the right place! ;)

Ha! Thanks guys… I seem to share the same addiction as you all do. I have been lurking around this site for about a year and I finally decided to post! The work on this site is incredible. I love the amount of fabrication that is going on here. The GT 40 is another project in itself. It's a RCR replica. Great kit, a ton of "figuring out" but a lot of fun. I hope to get back onto that one this summer. Trying to finish this black one first.

Here are a few more images of that project. I just ordered the sound system for it this week. Thanks to a fellow forum member (Scott with the 66 Chevelle). Great guy and full of information!

Here goes..

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2015/02/IMG_1498_zpsb5d2b56d-1.jpg (http://s120.photobucket.com/user/chatas17/media/IMG_1498_zpsb5d2b56d.jpg.html)

Had to do a little modification for the coyote to fit.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2015/02/IMG_1486_zps9be0abc0-1.jpg (http://s120.photobucket.com/user/chatas17/media/IMG_1486_zps9be0abc0.jpg.html)

TCI coyote engine mounts. They worked out nice. my original plan was to build a 408 stroker motor.. Then the coyote came out.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2015/02/IMG_1475_zps8174a69f-1.jpg (http://s120.photobucket.com/user/chatas17/media/IMG_1475_zps8174a69f.jpg.html)

Test fit the engine for the 5th time… You will see that I modified the shelby hood to accommodate the supercharger.

..and here is the hood. I went up 1.75" and out 3" for the scoop.. A lot of work.

Shaved drip rails. I think this turned out really nice. I never liked all the pieces that the original used..

Door gaps. We did some pretty extensive work to the sheet metal… New full quarters, new one piece floor pan, etc..

..and some paint work.

a ton of work to get the back decklid to fit properly..

the bumpers were narrowed to fit tight to the body.

a lot of wet sanding to blend the stripes.. Didn't want any ridges

It's hard to see here but notice the bumper fit. The gaps turned out really nice. It's amazing on what the tolerances were originally. We added about .75" to the top of the bumper to close the huge factory gap.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2015/02/reartire_zps453f23ea-1.jpg (http://s120.photobucket.com/user/chatas17/media/reartire_zps453f23ea.jpg.html)

295's in the back. I think I could have gotten away with 305's.. The car was mini tubbed (2")

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2015/02/backside_zpsac967a1c-1.jpg (http://s120.photobucket.com/user/chatas17/media/backside_zpsac967a1c.jpg.html)

I"m pretty happy with the wheels. They were pretty inexpensive but the look feels right for me at least.

Here I'm mocking up the "rear seat delete". This is foam core. I have since built it out of baltic birch which will be wrapped in carpet. I also added a compartment for the amp.

They are great looking cars. Hey, do you have a big block for your car? I have a 67 GT390 that came with the original engine and a never been fired 428 with a dual quad. It's an amazing engine with great components. I think I want to return the 390 car to it's original glory.. Here are a couple of pics. I am interested in selling the engine and trans (auto). It's around 650-700 HP.

Some beautiful work right there!! Well done sir!

I did the opposite on the engine... thought about the Coyote for my build but I have one in my Boss (and love it!!)... had the 5.4 in my Shelby making 1000hp (and loved it)... but wanted a good ole' fashioned push rod motor making 600+hp with stack injection!! I did the 408, 8 stacks, big heads and custom cam!!

Lovin' the choices we have today!! Good luck with the build! It's sweet!

I did the same with my 69 Mach1. It had a 408 (minus the stacks). Great engine. Lot of torque. Here is a couple of pics... I like the rendering of your 65-66. Nice!

I noticed it looks like you are running and MT82 with remote shifter.
You should check out this bracket.http://www.cjponyparts.com/mustang-parts/p/MSSB2/
It is a shifter bracket for the MT82 that essentially converts it to a solid mount shifter like a T56 would have.

Wish I would have known about that before.. I fabricated a "bracket" of sorts that bolts the shifter to the trans tunnel. I just ordered my alum driveshaft and I think I may have a clearance issue though. I'll find out next week… Thanks for sharing!

Great looking build. Agree with the choice of wheels, definitely go with the car and that rear seat delete is clean, good idea on the hiding of the amp as most install them into the trunk, curious if you're planning on venting the box somehow as the heat would build up eventually if its fully sealed/ hinged with a door and cause poor performance/ "amp clipping".

We're also working on one of these in our shop, just finished wiring her all up recently. Full custom interior and a ton of other work into her.

Nice build! Yes, definitely plan on venting the amp compartment. Still need to integrate slots in the box and I'm considering a fan to vent out as well. It's amazing how many "pieces" there are to this puzzle.

Chatas1- what type of exhaust system are you using (headers, mid pipe, etc.)? I was thinking of using Doug's headers for mine, but not sure what H/X pipe would be used with the V-band style clamps.

Chatas1- what type of exhaust system are you using (headers, mid pipe, etc.)? I was thinking of using Doug's headers for mine, but not sure what H/X pipe would be used with the V-band style clamps.

I am using Dougs headers. They worked out very nice with the TCI front end. I think I will be doing a custom 3" exhaust. My concern is getting the exhaust over the rear axle and clearing the 4 link.

Same concern that I have. I'm using the Ridetech 4 link and the exhaust will run through the center of the rear valance. I definitely want to go with Doug's headers. May have to use a custom DIY exhaust kit. I believe Magnaflow makes one.

I have the Rod and Custom 4 Link on my Mach, just wrapping everything up. I am no fabricator and couldn't find an exhaust guy that would route it over the axle. So, I went for the under axle out the rear exhaust. I must say, I like it... If I want to drop the exhaust I can unbolt it and pull it out. And car sits so low, that from behind you can't tell if it's over or under. Love your Car(s).

Can you post a couple of pictures of your exhaust? I was looking at it last night and think I can route it over closer to the tires than the center section. It's definitely going to be a challenge...

Just finished the pedal support set up. I'm using a 2005 mustang slave cylinder and modifying the stock pedals. Notice the roller bearings for easier pedal effort.

Nice. I hope to run mine in a similar manner. Your set up is a little different though.

Thanks for the photos! Do you by chance know the distance from the ground to the muffler? I know it's tight…. Yes, we do have the tank to deal with! ;)

Couple new images.. Installed the MC. It's a 1" bore. With the coyote, your options are pretty limited. This one is from Mustangs to Fear. Nice unit.

New Aluminum drive shaft. Very nice, and kinda pricey…

What rear suspension kit are you using?

The Rod and Custom 4 Link. Need to raise the lower shock mount up a little. I think from muffler to the ground is about 4 inches. I'll get a measurement when I get it raised up. BTW, a 1 inch bore MC with manual brakes is gonna be a Stiff Pedal... maybe... But your car is Awesome....

I know!… It's been driving me crazy thinking about it… I couldn't find a MC with that was less than 6" in length and a 7/8" bore.. We will see… I have the same 4 link as you. I'm hoping to slam that puppy down to get the right stance. Thanks for the help!

You might check out this MC... Looks pretty short.. But it does have Twin Bowls, side by side...

I think I am running 1" front and 7/8" rear but I may be off on that. I can tell you it is a huge difference with manual when you're used to power assist!

Yes, I agree. I have another 67 fastback with a 7/8 bore and it feels good (manual). It's just a cruiser though. I have been doing calf exercises now for a year with anticipation of a 1" bore!

Quick update - This is the rear seat delete option with a compartment for the amp. Still "tucking" the edges but I thought it turned out pretty nice.

Did you run into any hood fitment issues. My plan was to use my stock hood thinking that it would clear my blower, but I thought wrong!! Thinking of a nice raised hood now but not sure what I actually like.
