Anyone out there have any experience with Scott Pro Speed Parts (hitechmotorsport/Ebay)? I've attached a picture of their product listing. I have a 69 Camaro with a 2000 Trans Am LS1/6 speed and want to switch out the factory composite manifold. It's basically stock now except for headers and FAST 92mm billet throttle body. I plan on installing a Comp Cams Thumper cam with upgraded valve springs and push rods shortly and want to change the factory intake while I perform the cam change.
My car is basically a "cruiser" now (Picture attached)....but I want the old sound of a lumpy cam and the "hi tech" look of the sheet metal intake manifold plus some power increase! I would appreciate your input on this manifold as the pricing is very reasonable. I have to confirm it will fit under my factory cowl hood before I go much farther!

I believe these have been dissected by various people on LS1tech and the consensus is that they are cheap overseas junk that is just made for looks.

That is good to know. I do know that the factory intakes are severely limited by their low profile. I really wish we could have had more room to lift the runners and to have a better transition from the plenum. This type of design has potential. Too bad the execution seems to be poor.
I know if the transition from the plenum to the runners is too sharp, the effective flow area will be choked and will act like a smaller runner. We observed that many times while developing the LS7 intake. I can tell you a thousand ways to do it wrong...

Many places have been importing them. I mean for $500-600 it's a sweet looking manifold.. But I'd buy it for looks before performance. I wouldn't care if I lost 20hp, they're cheap and cool! lol.
I bought & sold a few last year for both the LS3 and LS1. They do look nice from the outside and come with gaskets & bolts.
As far as modifying them, it has been done and can be done for not a lot of $$.. A USA made one is about $2500.. For about $400-500 you could have a fab shop cut off the top of the knockoff one and probably get closer with HP.

For you LS guys-why did almost all of the LS based motors in the Engine Masters this year use a EFI system on a carb style Victor type intake?

Because they work better given the rules and the scoring of EMC...

Since EMC is about good average TQ/HP I would think then that intake would be good for LS motors stuffed in older cars that have the hood clearance.
