We are doing gloss silver with a a few orange matte stripes. Do you have any recommendations on how to do the technique so you don't get a matte edge where the silver and orange come together?

Or will there always be an edge??

Best,
Kris

When having a matte next to a gloss, there's pretty much no way to not have an edge, the clearcoats are totally different formulas and each need to be sprayed and cured separately. I stepped into this world with m 66 Mustang last year, and used a pinstripe to hide the edge somewhat, I had my Barbera Red Base, sprayed the matte silver stripe, then had my pinstriper add a bright red stripe. I even talked to Troy Trepanier about it a couple years ago when I ran into him at SEMA, pretty much just get the matte section as thin as possible with a few coats possible, which is what he did on the Talledega he did recently.
