Wheel size?

I know this has been asked a thousand times. I just sold my 16 inch TTII's and am wondering what backspacing I would need for some 17's. They will be 17x8 in the front with factory disc brakes. The rears will be 17x91/2 with stock drums. Does the drum brakes make a difference on the backspacing because someday I would like to add disc on the rear. Also what would the max sizes and backspacing be for some 18's. Sorry for the same old question.

what was the back spacing on the 16" wheels? Can you just use the same backspacing?

The 16's had 4.5 backspacing. But from what I have seen on this site it looks like a 17x8 would need 4.75 and a 17 x 9 1/2 would need a 5.5. My concern is the rear backspacing. Will it still be 5.5 with drum brakes and will the wheel well lip need rolled with a 17 x 9 1/2.

Anybody with some ideas? 17 x 9 1/2 w/5.5 bs on rear with drums and 17 x 8 w/4.75 bs on front with disc? Will the rear's rub?
