Wanted to say hi. I bought my 80 Z28 2 years ago and I'm just starting the transformation into a pro-tourer. I've used this forum a lot over the past couple years, and it has been really useful. So thanks to everyone who is willing to take the time and share what works and what doesn't. I have my whole plan in place and can't wait to get my camaro back on the road. The pic with the snow in the background was the last pic I took before the car was taken apart.
My plan of attack is:
Fuel injected 421 stroker
4L80E (paddle shifter)
Still deciding on rear end, using my 10 bolt with trutrac 3.73 for now
Chris Alston g-street coil over front suspension
Chris Alston g-bar 4-link
Chris Alson g-connector system (subframe connectors)
Wildwood 6 piston front, 4 rear
US Mags PT3-U703 wheels
6 or 8 point cage, 99% chassis stiffening
This is the current plan, subject to change. Input is appreciated, this stuff costs too much not to consider other options. I've really wrestled with the suspension. I like Ridetech, but in my head the Chris Alston 4-link does a better job of supporting the stress under hard driving conditions on the 2nd gen camaro. I feel I can't go wrong either way, just leaning towards Chris Alston.
