Hello all,
New to both the site and to classic rebuild world. I just purchased a 1970 GTO, it is a well optioned car from factory, 400, THM-400(M40), front disc brakes(JL2) with vacuum power(J50), 3.90 Rear end(GU8), Posi(G83). I would like to upgrade the suspension to allow it to be a badass weekend driver that is diverse enough to play a little harder when I need/want to. Not really wanting to do a race ready type of thing, just want to have a late model feel with an aggressive stance. Unfortunately the body is dismantled prepping for paint so wont be able to measure ride heights before and after each part. Any help with a complete package idea as well as whether I need spindles as well as spring packages would be appreciated.

Beautiful cars the 70 GTO are, well done. Check w/ DSE for your suspension upgrades or one of the vendors that sponser this site, there are some very good options available for you and your GTO. Go slow, ask lots of questions and make a well informed decision. Try to purchase everythign from one vendor for they took the time to science out their offerings so they work as designed.

I had SPC upper and lower arms with ATS spindles etc on my 64 GTO. SPC springs and Bilstein shocks. The ride was excellent. Get with Mark at SC&C and he will talk your ear off...

It's a great time to own an A-body since there are a ton of companies making suspension systems for them.

We have some nice pieces for your car with hopefully more this year (as we are doing a GTO Project - find it in the Project Section). Made in the USA

One of our coilover packages could definitely make it an enjoyable, good handling weekend car! The A-body packages are a full bolt on setup. They come with our monotube coilovers, front/rear control arms, and have an option to run our Musclebars. The kit is set up to drop the ride height 2" compared to factory height. I would suggest the Level 2 package, it comes with the rebound adjustable shocks, that way you can fine tune the valving for more of a street or a performance oriented driving style. The stance and performance of the car would be a night and day difference.

Good morning.
We also have some nice stuff for that platform. We can discuss your budget and how you want the car to work.
