One of the latest choices is the hookers, which should be used with their new mounts & oil pan. Just coming into production. Check out the whole thread.http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1733542-new-hooker-g-body-ls-swap-system-preview-20.html Their new systems have got good reviews on different forums.
A lot of people don't like the BRP stuff.
One lower budget option some have done is buy TSP or speed engineering 1 7/8" 98 to 02" f-body stainless headers . May need slight mods depending on variables.

Thanks for the info, I was looking at that, I have the Dingo motor mount, and the Holley 302-1 Oil pan!!

I just ran across your post here and can possibly save you some research time by confirming that the new Hooker G-body swap headers will not work with the Dirty Dingo engine brackets and Holley 302-1 pan you have. The new Hooker engine brackets that were developed for use with the new headers are the only ones they will fit with due to the specific engine height and fore/aft location designed into the brackets; they produce an installed engine height that is lower than any other engine bracket set-up and requires the use of the Holley 302-2 oil pan to clear the engine crossmember.

OK, , I'm really confused!! the 302-1 oil pan is designed for the G Body, where have you seen this info posted???

The design of the 302-1 pan and the tooling used to produce it was purchased by Holley 4 or 5 years ago from JZ Motorsports. It was designed to provide users with a raised sump floor and stroker crank clearance capabilities with no specific vehicle application in mind as far as I know. You can indeed install an LS into a A/G-body using the 302-1 pan using the typical "swap plate" approach, but you will not achieve optimized engine inclination/U-joint working angles through that method.

The 302-2 pan was designed to from the onset with more attention paid to common fitment/clearance constraints that present themselves when swapping an LS engine into many popular GM muscle cars, which translated to the creation of a much lower front end profile on the pan (1.25" to be exact) and a shorter sump length compared to the 302-1 pan.

The new Hooker A/G-body LS engine swap brackets work in conjunction with the Hooker transmission crossmember to provide optimized engine inclination and U-joint working angles, which would not have been possible if we did not have the design geometry of the 302-2 pan available to design around. The front end of the 302-1 pan is too tall to allow it to be installed with the new engine brackets and will experience interference with the engine crossmember before allowing the engine to sit down on the mounts.

The design of the new Hooker A/G-body headers were also designed for compatibility with the new Hooker engine brackets, so their collectors will have interference issues with the vehicle floor if attempts are made to install them on an engine that has been installed at the higher position that is achieved with the use of "swap plates" and the OE factory clamshell engine brackets. I am the designer at Holley responsible for the development of all the Hooker swap components, so I'm providing this information from first-hand experience with this application and the Hooker/Holley parts developed for it.

I hope this info sheds a little more light on this application for you; feel free to send me a PM if you need any more info.

Why does your trans mount need to be made, are you running a 6L80/90?
