I have a customer who wants to change his whole rear out to a late-model Ford 8.8. He's unhappy with the aftermarket 9" gear set noise, and wants to switch to a complete OEM-based rear with their quieter gear sets.

Anyway, this unit is in perfect condition, all built by DSE and shipped to me on a crate. It has about 3000 miles. Specs:

(from DSE's website):
• Heavy duty round back housing, TIG welded, 3" x .250" tube, 1350 yoke, Truetrac, 31-spline axles, ½" studs, Chevy bolt pattern and wheel register
• QUADRALink™ brackets welded to housing
• Billet Torino ends and axle vent
• Fully assembled, black powder-coated housing
• Fill and drain plugs standard
• Moser N Case center section with Moser pinion support with large Daytona style pinion bearing

I'll include the brake lines as well. This cost nearly $7000 new from DSE, and I'm looking to get $2000 for it. The unit is still on the car, and it will take some time to schedule the customer in, remove it from the car, crate and ship it. PM if interested.

Based on what it cost I'm assuming it comes with the center chunk? What gears and posi? Brakes included?

Yes, the center chunk and coilovers are included. Brakes and sway bar are not included. 3.25 gear ratio, TrueTrac differential.

So you're cutting out the welded link mounts and shock mounts too? Or are those available separately from dse? I can't imagine they'd want their pans all cut up.

I won't be cutting anything. I'll be replacing this 9" Ford with a late-model Ford 8.8 setup. I'll get the housing-side brackets from DSE and weld them on to the new housing.

Someone buying this would need to get the body-side brackets and control arms from DSE to install it in their car.

I'm willing to work with someone on buying the bracket kit and splitting it. I'll keep the housing side stuff, and the buyer would get the body-side stuff and control arms.

I'm a DSE dealer, so I'll make that arrangement worthwhile.

Sorry about slow PM responses. I've got an avalanche of interest. I think I priced it too low, based on the dozens of PMs, phone calls, and shop visits I've received. I'm working through the list as the PMs were received. As of this minute there is a deal pending.

I've closed the thread. As I mentioned, I have a sale pending, and I also have two backup buyers, and about 50 people annoyed they didn't get it.

As an aside, it's not cool to fill a For Sale thread with comments unrelated to the goods being sold -- it makes it harder to read the thread for legitimate content, and it's also not cool to edge in and try to steal a deal once it's pending.

Again, sorry for the slow PM response. This has been -- by far -- the most response I have ever gotten on a For Sale thread. I appreciate all the interest.
