What it can look like after it's wrapped in vinyl, this is up to the end user to do. You can paint or cover this in cloth or vinyl

Are the speaker holes above the factory holes? Is trimming required?

there's no trimming required. As well as the factory holes are in line with the holes in the tray.

George you had one of these before, you know there's no trimming required. As well as the factory holes are in line with the holes in the tray.

I had it over the deck, never had the holes cut open and never looked at the alignment of the locations. I meant trimming of the sheet metal - not the fiberglass.

They align over the factory 6 x 9 holes, no cutting in that section other than the hole in the center. No trimming of the metal other than the subwoofer cut-out if the end user decides to use that option

If Grendel passes, I will be glad to sell to you. But I can't hold it or wait until next week and so forth. I'm pride myself as being a fair seller and ship quickly, I expect no less from the buyers.

That's what happened this time with someone else, he wanted me to hold it until last wed, was supposed to ship the money order (which I hate doing mail payments for the exact reason) and it didn't work out and buyer changed his mind. Waiting over a week may have cost me a sale here with the first poster playing the waiting game with the other buyer. He posted he wanted it the same day I committed a sale with the money order mailer.

I'll give Grendel a little bit to respond and I'll let you know - thanks again

Ok George, he backed out too...it's yours if you want it. Do you still have my paypal?

Yep, I ended up buying a carbon fiber panel same day.

First come first serve, $190 shipped

Here's some pics of the subwoofer mod I did to my 71. I used angle steel as a brace to strengthen the rear deck for the subwoofer box

The modification for the sub box looks great.

Do you anchor your sub box to the angle?

The modification for the sub box looks great.

Thanks George, it's pretty solid and the beauty of having a sub fire through the rear deck is because the trunk won't rattle as much because the pressure is inside the car now.

It also takes advantage of the curve of the glass and makes the bass louder and deeper. It's the same type of thing you get when subs are placed in a hatchback. Look up bass transfer function.

If you still wanted the subs to fire towards the back of the trunk you can use the top of the area where I cut out for ports to fire through. This would accomplish the same thing, although the trunk would rattle a little more if the subs were firing back towards the taillights it would allow you to use ports more efficiently and make a nice display of subwoofer when opening the trunk.

I myself am using a single 10" in a sealed box, but I can see something like two 10" subs firing towards the taillights and a square port on top firing through the hole in the deck. Just depends on how creative you want to be.

Do you anchor your sub box to the angle?

Yep, if you look closely there are holes drilled in the angle, the box will be secured with bolts through that. The box will also be secured to the trunk floor as well using L brackets. This keeps it nice and solid and all of the stress off the rear deck if a box and sub was just hanging there. The back of the box also gives a secure place to mount an amp rack.

I'm also going to line the deck metal with some dynamat or something similar to deaden it from rattles and vibrations too.
