If I use the Holley motor mounts and transmission crossmember to install an 06 LS2 and T56 out of a GTO into my 68 firebird (which has a '69 Camaro front subframe...got a killer deal on it with full DSE suspension already on it making it not a pure pontiac I know I know firechicken) what will I need to move on the front accessories so I don't have to notch the frame. If so which front drives do you suggest? I'm planning on also running vintage air as well. Also it has the stock steering set up so do I need to change the oil pan to the Holley pan (or any other suggested pans)? Thanks for the help.

Holley makes a very nice accessory drive system that can be spaced out to the three different spacings, depending on what you have.

I'm with Andrew. Use the Holley parts -- they are the best. You'll need to re-locate the A/C compressor up to the passenger head if you want to avoid notching the frame. Holley's got what you need to do all of it.

Good luck!

Can the alternator stay toward the bottom? Also what about the oil pan?

You have to high mount the accessories with the holley mounts. They make an oil pan, motor mounts, headers and a trans cross member that are all meant to work together. You can also get accessory brackets from them.

Running an F-body or GTO low-mount alternator can be done with the new Hooker 1st-gen swap components with minor clearancing needing to be done to the engine crossmember...running a low-mount A/C compressor will take MAJOR surgery to the crossmember and the right side Hooker engine bracket (ask cwylie). Using the Holley upper-mount accessory drive brackets with the Hooker swap components makes everything a bolt-in operation.

And the oil pan needs to for sure be swapped to?

Yes, because the stock GTO oilpan is a front sump pan. In fact, since you are going to swap pans and will have to get a different dipstick, want to sell me the dipstick and tube? Seriously.

Let me buy the motor first haha. If I do it's yours. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Yes, and you need the Holley 302-2 pan specifically. The 302-1 will not fit in your application as the new Hooker mounting components place the engine too low in the subframe to accommodate it.
