Trying to solve tha problem as to why the gauge is dead on my Dad's Wildcat. There are 3 connections on the gauge itself. One has continuity to the sender. The other two are dead. I think one should be 12v but don't know which. Help!

Try reading through this:

I just went through it on my Impala. As much as I dislike electrical issues, it's really not that complicated. The worst part was dropping the tank only to discover it was the ground wire that was faulty.

I have the '64 Chassis Manual for Buick Fullsized
Tan: Signal from tank sender which is grounded (Panel Connector G)
The other two are traces to the round panel if it's the same as my '64 Riviera and are shown the same on the diagram.
One has continuity to Panel Connector A, Brown, which should trace to the voltage regulator.
The other is ground through Panel Connector F, Black, which per the diagram ground in the glovebox.
Panel Connector pins are A above the index nub going COUNTER CLOCKWISE when looking at it from the open end. Pins on the printed board are A above the index nub going CLOCKWISE when looking at the pins.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help. The missing amp light socket was the problem. This stopped the brown regulator wire from running its course to the fuel gauge. Simple fix but the pin info solved it for me.
