Has anyone put a h or x pipe in with a jrs three link or similar rear setup. Looking for some pics or info. Thanks

Hey Trevor ... just curious ... where are you thinking about placing the H-pipe and/or X-pipe?

There is a little room between the front member of the three link and the tail of the tranny for a h setup didn't know if anyone has tried something like this.

Can you fit an X-pipe in that spot?

Not a chance it's very tight there

If you place it at the correct distance from the end of the primary tubes ... so the exhaust pulses don't crash into each other ... the H-pipe will relieve some back pressure & increase power in the mid-range & up.

Just a precaution. If you place an H-pipe (or X-pipe for that matter) in the wrong location ... and exhaust pulses do crash into each other ... you will see a power loss. The worst case I have seen was a 65hp loss. Actually it was 45hp compared to running straight pipes ... and 65 hp difference compared to having the X at the correct location. To do this optimally, your engine specs & exhaust flow need to be calculated to produce your exhaust pulse pattern. Unfortunately, my software only works to design a complete optimum exhaust system ... not to optimize just the H or X pipes on an existing exhaust system.

So the simplest way is to make a removable H-pipe & simply test it on a chassis dyno with the H-pipe in & out. If you do this, please post your results ... which will be different for everyone ... but interesting nonetheless.

Thanks for the input but do not think it will get on the dyno. I'll talk to my motor builder and see what he says. I'll take some pics of what I end up with.

good info! I often try to talk guys out of 3 inch exhaust and oversized header tubes, most times its overkill and you loose HP and gain noise and resonance
