Is this the best gasket fitment with 1968 Camaro chrome rectangular mirrors that I will find? It bothers me to see so much of the gasket - I wish the gasket outline was a better match to the base.
Are there other options? Any ideas?

Mine shows but not that bad. The front looks odd. I just put mine on the other day from firewheel classics. Text me at 972-814-8824 and ill send you a pic of mine. If you need more pic LMK

I went with the Morris Classic and the fit was nice.

Trim the gasket to match the contour of your mirror base. Glue it to the base with superglue before installing.

I had emailed Scott Drake and Morris Classic about their mirrors. Morris emailed back with a photo to confirm the fit, like yours, so I made the purchase.
I just received the mirrors and the inside base has the Scott Drake stamp. Go figure. Much happier with the fit though and it indicates the gasket is fine with the right aftermarket mirror.

We were looking at doing that or finding a 3D printer to make a gasket to fit the mirror base.

i've made gaskets like this out of rubber stair tread. Cheap enough to buy at the local box store and you can make a LOT of gaskets out of one tread...
