I removed the G-braces and noticed some light stress stretch on the firewall where you bolt on the G-brace. I realize that the sheet metal was never intended to have such stress put on it, however, it is what it is. I would like to reinforce the area and I was hoping that some of you savvy guys might help think of a sensible way to create a stronger attachment area. Hotchkis included a thick wide spacer that sits on the top like a shim. I don't know if it was also meant to help by keeping the 2 bolts from tearing away the sheet metal. Here is something I am considering. Any thoughts. It is a stainless door hinge cut for use.
