A customer in Russia contacted us early this year about building a badass S10, because he absolutely loves these trucks and has a couple already. He also mentioned everyone over there has no clue how to work on old USA vehicles, so he had to think outside of Russia to make his dream truck come alive.

Since it's costly to send a truck over, and these are cheap to come by, we sourced a 1982 S10 out of California.

Most of the S10's around us are rotted out. We hoped the one in Cali was rust-free, and luckily it was! All it really needed was a tailgate and a door which had been damaged.

I'm sure you're wondering what exactly would constitute this "badassery"... Well, here's the basic breakdown:

-Schwartz G-Machine Chassis (custom/new product)
-RideTech single-adjustable coilovers
-Baer Extreme Plus 14" brakes w/6-piston monoblock calipers
-Moser full floating 9" with Baer Tracker floating hub kit
-GM LS7, modified by Schwartz Performance to 675hp, N/A.
-125hp shot of nitrous
-T56 Magnum transmission
-Custom 18x8 / 18x12 wheels (TBD)
-Small cowl hood, chrome bumpers & grille, painted satin black
-Dry sump tank, nitrous bottle, and tonneau cover in the bed
-4 to 6 point roll cage
-Bench seat, simple interior, with upgraded stereo, backup cam, spot light on the A-pillar

We literally found 3+ black widow spiders in this truck upon disassembly. We don't have those around Northern Illinois.. so most of us were really jumpy and often screamed like little school girls if one was spotted, or if we "thought" we saw one.

Next is a bit of bodywork- blasting, priming, etc.

The previous owner had fabbed up some neat ground effects, but our customer didn't want any of that.

We smoothed a few areas of the firewall at this stage. Not much was done around the tunnel since we didn't know how the engine & trans placement would end up.

At this point the chassis started being worked on. I'll touch on that soon.

Mmmm.. I can smell the dry sump lingering in the air.
....Was that too much?

We're using a Wegner front drive system. These by far are the best LS serpentine drives on the market.. We have been using them for over 7 years and try to use them on every LS build. The cost is comparable or less than VA and BS, and best part is, we're a dealer for them.

This is going to be good! What is shipping going to cost to get it there? Also, what is the Coyote motor for?

Usually around $4k-7k to ship over the ocean.

Coyote is going in a 52 Ford F1 which hasn't been put on our site yet :)

My first vehicle was a 1990 S10 Blazer so the first gen S10 platform really brings back memories, can't wait to see more of this build. Hopefully someday I can get another S10 and build the truck I always dreamed of back when I was 15/16

I can never get enough of these trucks
