Ive got a really odd one. We stated with a LS3- Street Shop Chassis front runner system that eats bearings, has a 1960's style tension-er and flat out doesnt work. On the corvette forums many guys complained about the system and the updates they sell for the system. I was told by Street Shop that the Vintage Air front runner system fits in Street shops chassis (this is a 1962 corvette with C-5 and c-6 sytle chassis.) So we order it and the power steering pump hits the rack along with some other minor fitment issues we were able to work out. Local tuner shop says no problem use a MR2 electric power steering pump, we do it all the time. We tried that but it doesnt flow enough volume and the pressures are borderline to operate the hydratech system. So now weve bought the bill bad ass of all electric pumps. Its off a brand new volvo and is capable of making 1800 psi at 4gpm! The volvo uses a controller to run the pump at variable speed for different driving conditions. Im deciding if we want to build a simple type controller or just wire the thing wide open and run an adjustable pressure regulator. Anyone been down this road before? Have any input?
