I'm about to start on my friend's 65 fastback with some upgrades on suspension. He took advantage of black Friday sales and ordered DSE minitubs/Ridetech 4-link. Reading the instructions on both kits, it appears that the DSE tubs require cutting the stock frame rails, and weld in new frame rails that move inwards to make room for the new tubs. Ridetech 4 link instructions show that the airbar uses the stock frame rail.

Here's my question. Can the Ridetech kit be modified to work with the new DSE frame rails (ie, have Ridetech narrowed the airbar to fit)? The Ridetech kit has not been shipped yet.

Brett/Rod or someone from Ridetech, what do you think?

Yes they can. We did exactly that on our company project car.http://blog.cjponyparts.com/2014/11/project-5030-unveiled-sema-2014/
We used universal mounts and welded them to the inside of the rail at the front leaf spring location to move the bars inward.

I looked on the blog. Do you happen to have installation pictures/video of the Ridetech install?

Here is a video where Bill explains what we did in the rear.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4plwFSCLc8&index=9&list=PLZ2IHG5zsXq1IWX6Ye84mEsp11FhIx8ZS Unfortunately Not super indepth.

This is the bracket that we welded on the inside of the frame rail. http://www.ridetech.com/store/large-rod-end-bracket-for-3-wide-rod-end.html

Hi Joshua,

I found the same video too. Quick question. You guys did not use the frame rail supplied by DSE, did you? From the pictures I found on the project thread on this site, looks like you guys narrowed/reinforced the stock frame rails, thus kept the distance between the inner frame rails the same?
