Been on here for awhile just watching other people's build before I start my own. Have a 64.5 mustang I was gonna start with but got a 42 olds for free in better shape I'm gonna use. Still doing research so I won't have a build thread for awhile.

Woah. A 42' olds. That's definitely off the beaten path! What are the plans? Where are you at in Iowa? I'm in Waterloo.

I'm in monroe (25 min east of Des Moines). I'd like to ls1 5.3 swap. Still undecided on trans. Turbo it later on. And looking into suspension now. Not many people building these. Maybe I'd have better luck looking up the chevy counterpart?

If forgot to mention....that car looks killer. The roof has a great line and almost looks chopped from the factory. So about the chassis....there's a guy in Hudson Iowa named Blake Stoner. He owns Stoner's Speed Shop. If you have Facebook look him up and and "like" his page. The guy is building some killer patina'd 40's-mid 60's pickups with LS conversions in his own custom chassis with ridetech bags. He might be able to help you out on the chassis and i'm guessing his prices are going to be much lower than the big boys. I was out to his place a few weeks ago getting a quote on some parts and hes a super cool, straight shooter kind of guy. http://stonerspeedshop.com/

I think I liked him on Instagram! I'll have to get with him! Thanks for the heads up.
