Hello all, been a while since I've posted, things at the shop have been keeping me busy.

I sold my Auto-X '67 Mustang coupe from last year (Had a blast racing it around and the new owner is in the family so I get to see the car often). I bought a new '14 Brembo GT Coyote Mustang to romp around in for now while I ponder what to build next. Been focusing on customers' builds lately so I haven't had much time for my own.

Anyhow, I though I would start a thread on a really cool '67 Fastback we are building for a customer at the shop. When it arrived it was just an empty shell and has come a long way since. It now has custom G-Street back-half by Chassisworks with sheetmetal included, a DSE Alumaframe up front, 15" Wilwoods on all 4 corners, an SVT/Shelby DOHC 5.4 S/C crate engine and a T-56 Magnum 6-speed trans.

We have installed the front clip, Vintage Air unit under the dash, engine, trans, all rear components and custom aluminum driveshaft. We have a ways to go on the car but we are pushing forward. This week I was able to get the hydroboost unit and hydraulic clutch unit mocked up as you will see in the link and pics below. Next up is custom floor pans and under-hood close-out panels as well as a custom hood and cowl, lots of plumbing and wiring, headers, exhaust, etc. Then on to body work, interior, paint and so on.

This will be a very subtle car, no flashy scoops or billet parts on its exterior. Hood and cowl mods will be non aesthetic, only for engine clearance and as true to original form as possible.

Since the pics the rearend has been narrowed about 4" overall for more wheel lip and has been powder-coated black. The ghetto wheels and tires in the pics are just rollers and the hydroboost and firewall plate are a rough mock-up for now.

I will add more pics and info as time goes and as I have time to save the pics to my photobucket, etc. For some detailed tech info here's a link to some custom firewall work I had to do to make the hydroboost fit with the 5.4 DOHC engine and a few pics of the car in process.

Thanks everyone, I will do my best to keep the updates coming. Although this is a Gearhead Garage build, It will be getting a lot of special attention from myself since I am the resident Ford geek and all. Not only do I fabricate a bit and turn a decent wrench as you guys have seen from my prior build(s) here and on a number of other forums, I also manage the front and fly a desk during business hours. There are and will continue to be many hours put into this car by yours truly while on and off the clock.

Clutch pedal is all done, OVERKILL FOR SURE but that's OK. Still mocking up brake pedal, hope to have that all done tomorrow.

Thanks, not a show piece by any means but strong, simple and effective. Brake pedal will be a bit different for serviceability reasons.

Removed old brake pedal stud (Tried pressing it out without any luck so I decided to just cut it off) Started mocking up new mount for the brake clevis.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2014/12/image_zpsaf6b58dd-1.jpg (http://s69.photobucket.com/user/bwkelley76/media/image_zpsaf6b58dd.jpg.html)

Learned quickly that the clutch pedal limiter was going to interfere with the brake pedal.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2014/12/image_zpsb1cf3657-1.jpg (http://s69.photobucket.com/user/bwkelley76/media/image_zpsb1cf3657.jpg.html)

Chopped off the limiter and flipped it over (I will modify the pedal support to accept an outboard limiter)

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2014/12/image_zps154125b0-1.jpg (http://s69.photobucket.com/user/bwkelley76/media/image_zps154125b0.jpg.html)

Brake pedal is all "beefed up" and welded

Rounded all edges on both pedals, made a few other minor clearance mods, all painted and ready to install.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2014/12/image_zps892fd862-1.jpg (http://s69.photobucket.com/user/bwkelley76/media/image_zps892fd862.jpg.html)

Brake pedal and clevis fit and move very well throughout their range of motion, steering column clears as well.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2014/12/image_zps19e86be8-1.jpg (http://s69.photobucket.com/user/bwkelley76/media/image_zps19e86be8.jpg.html)

Added new outboard clutch pedal limiter (Simple and effective, will line with felt or rubber later)

All done

Now these pedals are not super cool looking or anything, just modified stock pedals. They are damn strong, will probably never be seen, and will do their job forever. Depending on the customer's requests later on in the build I can always use these as prototypes and use a robotic plasma table (We do not currently have one in the shop but I do have access to one) and make some really cool looking tig welded pedals with windows/designs in all of the braces, etc.

The goal at this point in the build is to get the car mechanically functional and get everything mocked up. As the build continues there will be changes to scope here and there and we will dial in the small details.

what is the new brake pedal ratio achieved?

what is the new brake pedal ratio achieved?

Haven't done the math and it is what it is due to fitment constraints. With hydroboost and 6-piston 15" brakes on all 4 corners Im sure they will work great. If they work too well Im sure we can change things up as needed.

Awesome fab work! Can't wait to see more.

Thanks Eddie.

In order to give due credit, I must disclose the back half and related floors were done by Chassisworks and the front floors, under-hood sheet-metal and hood/cowl fab work are being done by Derek at The Hotrod Shop in Rancho Cordova. Although we do great fab work, we just don't have the time to address the level of custom fab-work that this car requires. We have about 40 cars in-house right now.

Here are a few more pics of the progress of the floor as well as the underpinnings/frame of the hood...
