What are your plans and ideas for the car? Maybe that will help to inspire some ideas.

Here are a few that I like.

Project - Fourfold
Project - 4X

Caprice means sudden change, like an impulse.
Project - Impulse 4X

A sudden change is also called a revolution.
Project - Revolution X4

I can already see some cool logos from these for the car or to put on a rendering.

Big block as I have it. 17s or 18s, big Corvette brakes, Ridetech air ride.
Drive anywhere, autocross, drag race, road course,
I am gonna try too keep it near stock on body. Maybe cowl induction hood.
Still debating on interior.
Thought about shaving rear door handles, making them hidden.
Since its a hardtop, as in no post. Also thinking on talking to Ridetech, about making Tigercage down the road or at least a roll bar going behind the front seat.
I have a couple of mid 60s consoles. One has piece that goes up too dash. Figure nice place for gauges.
I also have a spare Hurst dual gate.
Still debating which trans the stock pg, or my th400 or going 4l60 or 4l80e.
I mean I know about the 5spd, 6spd conversion of the 4l80e too add some gears.
Just pondering.
Also some good ideas there for names.

Big block Chevy? Looks like you drug it out of the trees?

How about Rat's Nest?

Actually it was under roof for several years, hence the bird crap.
Still needs few things dealt with. Frozen door latch right rear, weather strip, carpet , seat covers.
Had deluxe interior, pretty shredded. Probably try for different front seat over factory bench as intend to install a console.

Hey so far getting some good ideas to think about. the reason for the big block is because I have it. 37,000 original miles for $500 makes a great deal and that air cleaner to oil pan.
I did find a company that makes a 4l80e into a five or six speed. but the cost is very salty.

I'm an old guy so this is easy for me. Project DFD. dorky four door won't go away. It may be real fast, real slick, real low but still a four door.

I used to be one that didn't like 4 door cars, but there is something about them that draws me to them now. Maybe it is the challenge of making them into something a little more eye catching and cool.

Punisher, my thoughts exactly, and the main reason I made deal on this car over other cars they had offered for a project. Over the previous one, the 84 2 Dr Caprice with no title.
I am figuring on tightening the rear doors gaps, possibly shaving the rear handles and hiding a release at front of door jamb.
Just one idea I'm toying with. Been talking too body guy I know. Asked about simply removing handles, use 3M 8115 panel bonder to adhere a patch over the back, possibly even using the bonder to place a filler in the old holes.
Then repaint later on.
Still debating on the few ideas posed so far.

I knew that Impulse 4X was a good idea, IMPALA MAN. That was a nice car.

MonzaRacer, have you decided on a title yet?

NO, still waiting for exhaust, hoping boss ordered my mufflers, I really want to get some exhaust on it so I can do more driving and Ill be incentivised to plate and insure it for drive too shop. Just wondering how many times I get pulled over for driving it with no mufflers to shop, its only 45 miles away!
Might have headache after that drive!
Still debating lots of things.
Big block
air ride
trans, leave the PG or th400 or look for 4l80e
WHEELS

So a little more progress on my 77 Monza " Cheap Trick". Scored a ZR2 4wd rear end which allows me to plan for no spacers on rear axle and C4/5/6 back space wheels. A 9.5 56mm offset will go in same place as my old 2wd rear and 8.5 3.5 bs outlaw II's.
So do I just bite on rears and us 18x9.5 Vette wheels then try to source 8.5 matches on front of Monza.
Now just found out my 454 MAY have gotten some water in it.
Still turns over, buddy had it for mockup in his 53 Chevy. So its under cover in buddies garage.
Thinking about possibly pulling heads, intake, pan, tc cover for inspection. Then deciding on possibly ,if no water damage, swap on my 290 closed chamber heads from my 402 and matching tall cast iron qjet intake. On flat top truck engine would make it right at 9to 1 with no dome should run on pump gas OK.
Buddy has take out can from crate engine he put mutha thumper in. So he gave me can, lifters tc set. Offered free gaskets.
I had victor Jr intake with damaged holes so he took to get fixed but shop doing work is swamped, said to not worry about it he had extra intakes.
Been debating just dropping BBC in my truck as its 3 yr old roller engine has stuck for some reason. And BBC in truck might work as its set up to tow also.
Keep the running sbc in Caprice, do some nice duals and just drive it as I get brakes and suspension working better(drum brakes hate sitting).
Been debating trying to dial in some Corvette calipers, rotors maybe see if S10 rear disc stuff I have would fit in back.
Also have to think about rear springs, as car does have some 2x4 stuffed in rear springs.
Debated on saving for rear CoolRide and single line ran back to bumper like I did on my 71 Monte Carlo back in 98.
Maybe add single adj shocks.
Wonder why no one ever swapped in coil overs on back of an Impala/Caprice?
OK now gotta pm/email Ridetech.

How about "Unnatural" . The 67 4 dr hard top is associated with the TV show Supernatural and a 4dr used to be an unnatural car to build. Just my thought process.

Hope you like it, Chris

HT4. Simple and easy to say, means Hard top 4 door. I can see a cool modernized logo/emblem for it too. All the windows down, just the right stance, wheels and paint color and you've got one cool cruiser.

My dad had a 66 4 door with a 283/glide when I was 17. I already had my Nova to keep me occupied but I wanted it if he ever decided to get rid of it. Without me even knowing it one of my friends came and bought it off him while I was at work one evening. I was pretty bummed about losing out on that one. Like 3 months later a front wheel bearing went bad and my knuckle head friend abandoned it, I saw it on the side of the freeway. It got towed and crushed before I could track him down to get the title. Still a little miffed about that, and that was like almost 30 years ago.

When you decide you have too many projects just ship it to St. George, UT. :)

Only if they sponsor the build!

im sure if they did sponsor it they would want the driver " chair" to be from their lineup. i think its a great name for the land barge that it is ...air ride makes it like your riding a couch

Actually my 78 C10 and my 71 Monte road very taught and predictable, never squishy or floaty at all. in fact my truck handled better than buddys 01 Camaro with new springs and shocks And Eagle F1 tires!

Had thoughts on leaving it not glossy, sort of tough murdered look without going all hlack. Also pondered using darker lower edge in a fade.
Of course interested in getting it lower, plans are Ridetech air ride. 18 in wheels,
Mind keeps moving. Still pondering exhaust. Had planned 3 in, possibly using slash cut oval tubing to exit in front of rear wheels.
Been debating AP version of Flowmasters original patent muffler, my coat little over $25 each, or Dynomax Super Turbos, owner of business offers them to me to $80 for pair of new ones.
Found my stored low miles bbbc may have some minor water damage soooo. Might just leave sbc in Caprice, maybe do a twin turbo blow through setup later on.
Or return my close chamber 290 BBC heads, this will bump compression some, allowing me to swap in flat tappet hyd cam buddy pulled from crate BBC.
If I don't use BBC in Caprice might go in my 78 c10 as its engine has stuck for some reason.

So buddy came by and was showing off Caprice and we found one of roll around tires flat.
So we were chatting about how much I'll spend and I said I still have a Zero Budget,,,,
And he added the Or Less and everytime we talked about it I was talking about a Zero Budget basis for Project he kept dead panning the Or Less.
So it stuck, for now.
Unless I win lottery then Project path may change!111
