I'm looking to purchase some wheels today, ha! I have a 68 Camaro with a DSE front subframe. They recommend a 255/35/18 up front and 315/30/18 in the rear. The problem is that I can't find this tire combo with the exception of race/autocross only Toyo Proxies R888. They actually have a warning on their site about not using these in wet conditions and I plan on have this be a daily driver too. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I was told I could go up to a 9.5 front width but what size tire would that fit?

I highly recommend the BFG Rivals. No problem for the rear tires. The size for the front tires only come in a 245 or 265. If the front fender clearance is a little tight, try the 245s if not go for the 265. They're not that much wider. You are only talking about a total of a 1/2 inch which means only a 1/4 inch on each side. A 265 Rival will accept a 9-10.5" wheel and recommends a 9.5" wheel.

Here is a idea for you, I went with 19s on the rear of my car. I don't know if you want to do that or not. However I do believe there are more tire options for 19s on the rear. You can go to the specs on the tires and it will tell you how wide wheel it will fit.

255-35-18 is not a popular size - look into 245-40-18 size for the front, which are about the same in diameter as the 315-30-18. You can also go with a 265 or even 275 on the front with a 9.5" wheel, but clearance may be an issue with your suspension.
