I have an CSR starter in a BBC 454 and the distant between the starter drive and the flywheel is .260 thousand It should be .100 +- .040. will a new starter mount that brings the starter drive closer by .100 help the starter to engage with out clashing with the flywheel once in a while. The starter to flywheel teeth clearance had been checked and is good.
