Thanks. Hopefully we'll have this one rolling soon. The AME kit appears to be very easy as far as prep. I'll post pics as we progress.

So you have this great front and rear clips. What is going to tie them together to make the rest of the car rigid? Cool parts!

AME provides pre-bent steel tubing that ties them together. Thanks

Geoff,
Why use an IRS and front sub separately? Does AME make a full frame chassis with an IRS? If not, I guess it is the only choice. I'd love to see pics of the rear install with welds etc. using lots of light as the pics so far are a little dark when posted. Great project!

What header brand did you use?

Not available. Now that it's installed with the through-the-floor frame connectors , it should be solid. I need to take some more pics. Most of them have been taken with someone else's camera that leaves a lot to be desired. Thanks

The headers were supplied by AME. Listed on the invoice as "67-69 CAMARO HEADERS LS- COATED"

Black chassis paint from the paint supply store. Was supposed to be semi-gloss but seems to have more sheen that that

I have a bunch that we use in my day job. Middle Atlantic makes them for running wires into equipment racks

Is the car minitubbed? The backspacing is not the normal backspacing for a minitubbed first gen because the rear end is stock width.

Yes

Yes

Then it gets tricky because you want 12 inch wheels with roughly 8 inches of back spacing. Not too many guys running anything like that on this site. I ordered Forgelines for my AME IRS. Be careful if you go with 18 inch wheels, there are limitations on how much back spacing you can run. I went with 19 for that reason.

A quick update. Wheels are ordered from Rushforth. Interior is ordered. Client decided he wanted to paint so it is coming apart and being prepped.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Just been more of the same, been getting ready for paint. On a high note, the custom, new one-off wheels arrive from Rushforth :)

Thanks! 19x9's up front. Tires are 265/30's. Headers came from AME when we bought the chassis.
