Are there any kit being offered to re-do the door handles on the F-body cars? I'm thinking about a flush door handle on the side of the door. I think I saw this on the year one car.

have you thought of just shaving the handles completely....
I haven't really seen any camaro's with shaved door handles I was wondering what they would look like?

When I was looking through the posts it was brought up about passing tech inspections with shaved door handles, so I would like to avoid that if I could. I was just thinking of doing sommthing a little trick. I guess it wasn't the Y1 car that had Jaguar door handles.

I've seen someone use pt cruiser handles on the camaro. They look very similar, but are different enough to notice up close.

THe Unique Camaro has the Jaguar door handles, and I can't figure out what Jag they are suppose to be off of. PT Cruiser door handles have been done and I don't think it takes very much work to use them. C5 door handle have also been done but after studying them on the car they appear bulky to me.

I have a Buick LaCrosse (company car) the handles on it would look kinda nice too.

How tough is it to get these new handles working? Just bent the old rod to fit?

I am thinking about doing some flush handles on the bird as well, and was wondering that.

Ya know, on second thought the handles on that Buick look kinda goofy. The handle itself isn't bad, but the indentation in the door behind the handle is really too big.

The ones shown above are nice. Same as whats on the recent Impalas.

Installed or just the door handles? If you want just the door handles, GM sticks them on just about every midsize car they make now.

@ MuscleRodz -- A pic of them (c5 door handles)Installed, I have a pair of c5 power mirrors, I was planning on putting on my 69 camaro and I wondered what the door handles would look like. I know you'd have to cut the door, but is that it?

Thanks Deano

There is a 69 on this forum somewhere with Regal door handles. Two tone paint red and black. I think it looks sweet.

I found it....it's 69c4x11's and it's Old Intrigue handles...I think it is on the 3rd or 4th page of vbgarage.

Here is a '68 with Grand Am handles which are the same as C5 except the keyholes have been filled.

Very nice.

What is involved in getting the guts of the two mechanisims to mate up?

Keep in mind, on those GM handles there is only a keyhole on the drivers side handle.

yeah BlackSunshine is getting 2000 malibu handles. flush mount and very clean. i dont remember who said it though but they are on damn near all of GM's mid-size cars. What I wanted to do was flush mount a set of pull style handles like on the new Toyota Carolla or Mazda Tribute, but the depth at which i would have to mount them left almost no room for the brackets or the pull bar. so instead i decided on the malibu handles, currently trying to fab up a way for the infinity pull style trunk release to work on the tail gate, instead of the goofy wing nut looking nub thats currently there.

if you use the back door handles from most gm cars you don't have to worry about door locks
