Hello all,

I had the unfortunate event of having my daily driver stolen this morning. While going through my thoughts of what was in the vehicle, and a brief search of my apartment confirmed that my 240z keys were in the vehicle as I got into it this weekend. It is in storage right now, and I might have to consider driving it if this gets drug out.

I am going to need to get keys cut, but I am thinking that it would probably be smarter to get new locks and ignition switch due to the possibility of the thieves swing back through the area.

From the sounds of it there has been a recent spree across a few of the neighboring suburbs when I got a rental car. Downside to owning a performance vehicle.

Vehicle was a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer SS (stock) stolen from Novi Mi at Portsmouth Apartments. I know it is a far cry to find it, but it happened last night.

Trailblazer was towed away if the keys were not near it(if it had transponder keys) UNLESS the thief had way to copy or add a key to your truck. If its theftlock was based on safety of key code a thief can easily "pick" the lock as turning the ignition cylinder is the antitheft.
If you get it back and it was driven away, having a simple fuel pump power cut installed is simplest way to subvert them.
What my buddy liked was he timed how far for his vehicle to get to the closest intersection(only one way from his house too road) then kill the ignition. Car got stolen, cops came upon guy cranking battery dead, knew he wasnt owner and promptly arrested him after a short chase/tackle. And thief got nice concrete rash as he was stealing cars in cut off shorts and flip flops, no shirt. Funniest mug shoot I ever saw. Guy looked like he laid a bike down at 80 in those shorts. THEN tried to sue my friend for the road rash from arrest. His claim was the guy shouldnt have had such an enticing car(?!?!?!?!?) judge laughed and actually charged guy with contempt of court charge and added time/fine for wasting courts time. (local law used to deter crap lawsuits from prisoners)
