If I would have stayed with 17" for my 68 I would have used 245/45 and 275/40 tires. Now that I will probably go with 18", what size tire would get me close to the same dimensions to assure a proper fit.
Also, since this is a budget build I'd like to be able to find a lower priced tire (but I can't stand :barf: noisy tires). I don't have to have Z rated tires, W rating would work too.

245/45/17 = 25.68"
275/40/17 = 25.66"
245/40/18 = 25.71"
275/35/18 = 25.57

My 68 has 235-40-18's and 255-45-18's and I'm very happy with the looks. I would suggest the 245's for the front though. I wish i had of gone with them. That setup gives you a good tire height difference from front to back. But, if you really feel you have the need for that extra 2 cm in the back the 275-40 is about your only choice, otherwise a 275-45 will be probably too tall! As for brands, I'm running falken 451's and i'm very happy with them. They aren't the absolute best tire on the market but I'm happy with them and they have a nice agressive tread pattern...as for price...i think they were around $600-$650 or so.
