Hey Guys,
I am looking for an MPFI intake for a Gen 1 (pre 86) small block Chevy. I will be using a 4150 style throttle body on it. Im interested in manifolds with or without rails. Let me know if you have anything.

Out with the carb, in with the MPFI...

Still need a 4150 style throttle body and sbc fuel rails if anyone has anything let me know.

Is that a marine manifold? I've been thinking about one of those only to fit vortec heads for a while now...

Yes Sir it is. Mercury mercruiser. Got it off ebay. This ones the older cast iron version, but they did make an aluminum one too. I wanted to stay with a dual plane manifold to retain torque as my car is street driven most of the time. For some reason the aftermarket doesn't make these so I had to get a marine one.

Please keep us updated on how it all works out. I think this is a perfect option for some of us anyway.

I sure will. I looked and looked and all I could find was a single plane race style efi manifold. They all are 3000+ rpm power band which is anything but ideal for street cars. After a tom of research I found the mercruiser intakes. Should work well and be much better in the driveability department

I'm curious, what did you use for search words on eBay to key in on this one? It would help me a bunch if I could find the part number for the mercruiser multiport intake for vortec heads...

You can search mercruiser MPFI intake. You can also get the aluminum ones new for $400. Below are some links for more info;

Are you ditching the CCC Lance?
Dont the edelbrock rpm airgap manifolds have bosses on the runners to drill for injectors?

I'm considering it. Not necessarily because of the carb though. The ECM is pulling out timing on the top end costing me power, pretty certain it's the knock sensor. I've lived with it for years but if I want to run with those LSs that beat me on the big courses this year, I need more top end power.
If I want to upgrade the ignition, I need to do the carb at the same time. In that case, might as well explore all options.
I've got quote from a guy that converts the air gaps to MPFI, but I think I can get the job done quicker, cleaner and cheaper using the Marine intake.

The bosses in most intakes aren't large enough for injectors, they are usually for nitrous sprayers which are a lot smaller. You can have just about any intake converted to MPFI but like Lance said its usually more expensive to do. I'm planning my conversion from carb to MPFI to run me about $1200 when all is said and done using microsquirt to control fuel and spark.

That looks great! The merc intake looks pretty darn similar to your edelbrock.

Yeah they are very similar, only real difference is in the weight. The new one is cast iron so its much heavier than the Edelbrock.
