SEMA is always an exciting show…new products…new car builds…new technology. This year we are going to have Ron Sutton in our booth on Thursday Nov. 6 from about10:00 am until around 2:00 pm.
RideTech has always been committed to quality, customer service & performance…we never sit still. Our team is constantly developing and testing new products for the performance street market. We’re proud to have a guy with Ron Sutton’s background as a Ridetech dealer and appreciate him offering advanced track performance tech advice to our more hardcore clients. The recent push into the Corvette markets and the Gen 5 and Mustang markets has exposed the need for even more and better tech advice for our customers.

Ron added, “This is not a structured class or workshop. I’m a guest in the Ridetech booth to do Q&A one on one or in small groups and share advanced technical help in simple terms, which is what I’m known for.”
If you want to talk directly with a hardcore car guy that designs, builds & tunes an amazing amount of winning cars … you are invited to stop by the Ridetech booth at SEMA on Thursday, November 6th, anytime between 10 am and 2 pm … and ask Ron Sutton your track performance suspension related questions.

And some background on Ron…
For 35 yearsRon Sutton has worn many hats in motorsports from winning race driver, crewchief, R&D leader, race car designer, chassis builder, tuner-for-hire,driver coach, nine-car race team owner & workshop speaker. Ron Sutton and his Winner's Circle race team are famous for winning almost 500 races invirtually every form & series of racing from road course, oval & dragracing.
In racing circles Ron Sutton was known as the go to guy to make race cars faster and teams a winner. These days Ron’s focus is helping individuals with ProTouring, G-Machines, Autocross & Track Cars. Ron said, “I love teaching & helping people make their cars perform better. Whether it’s through my upcoming books, workshops or helping a car guy one on one with his suspension, brakes, powertrain or aerodynamics, I love it. This is my passion.”
Ron explained how this started, “I had a client with Ridetech shocks, so we dissected, experimented & tested them ... and came away very impressed. It is an excellent, well designed & well-built shock. The ride quality & street performance is the best I’ve seen. So I became a Ridetech Dealer. Since then, I’ve fell in love with the whole product line.”

Hey Guys !

I'm looking forward to doing a Track Tech Q&A session in the Ridetech booth at SEMA on Thursday. I'll be there from 10 am to 2 pm answering any track or autocross handling questions folks stop by with.

The topics are not limited to shocks or Ridetech. Feel free to ask any question pertaining to suspension or handing performance.

If you don't have any specific questions, stop by anyway as I have 4 key topics prepared to share:
* Understanding Shock Dyno Graphs in 5 Easy Steps
* The 7 Secrets of Winning Shock Valving for Track & Autocross
* Taking the Mystery Out of Tuning Adjustable Shocks
* Key Differences in Caster, Camber & Toe Settings for Street & Track Performance

Oh, no bikinis please. None. Nada.

UMI enjoys a great relationship with all the RideTech guys. Heck, we even like Darren (we include their HQ shocks in one of our high level kits). This is a good thing because I plan to be parked in their booth writing down everything Ron has to say. A celebrity autograph is fun at SEMA but dare I say having Ron write down some shock settings would be much more valuable.

Kudos Bret.

There aren't a lot of guys that possess a reputation and resume such as Ron's who are as willing to share the knowledge they've amassed over their careers.

I've worked with contemporaries of his, and those who think they are, but aren't. Have yet to meet one who'll do what Ron will do.

If you have an opportunity to take advantage of this event, do it....but please, make sure you show your appreciation for the rare opportunity.

This should be fun and informative. Sad to say I'll miss it (move and all) but if any of you are going to SEMA, don't pass this up. Ron and I have had many great chats about suspension, brakes, shocks, springs...... But mostly, we talk about the approach to tuning that can maximize the handling performance of a car. (or truck) Any car. YOUR car. Don't miss out on this chance to learn a thing or two. Purchasing the best suspension parts for your car, and NOT tuning them in, would be like bolting in a new MAST motor, and using the old ECU. You just miss out on the full potential. Ron can explain these steps to you in normal language, no Physics degree needed. Have a great time at the show.

MAST motor, old ECU? ha ha ha ....I was thinking more along.. its like getting bolt on boobs for the wife and never using them!...great to look at but worthless unless you play with them!

Ron helped me design the Green Machine 383 SBC powerplant. I've had many an LS fan wonder why this old school small block pulls so hard...

It was April a year and a half ago that Ron contacted me and asked me if I wanted help figuring out a handling problem I was having with my car. I did not know who he was at the time, but after a quick search...a quick "hell yes" was replied.

Since that day Ron has taught me more than I could ever imagine. And not just about suspensions (although that has been the main focus), about everything I've asked him about in regards to cars and performance. Ron has a way of breaking down pretty complex procedures or calculations into layman's terms so that any average car guy can understand them. He is patient while you learn while at the same time remaining adamant that things are done properly if you want the best results. He is the best teacher I have ever learned from, in any discipline.

With his help, I was able to take a low budget sports luxury car...and not only be competitive in my Regional SCCA autocrosses...but also run upper mid pack in all 3 elements at a USCA event (and earn a Ridetech Renegade of the event award there) and bring home a trophy from a 3rd place finish at my first SCCA Solo Nationals event.

My point here is, if anyone wants to learn more about how to make their car handle and perform to it's maximum potential, they should be standing in the Ridetech Booth at SEMA soaking in every minute of Ron Sutton talking that they can. I wish I could be there to do just that (and I already communicate with him on a regular basis).

Wish I could be there to meet Ron in the flesh. His advice made my truck work far better and do things GM never, ever intended.

I agree. If your even remotely close, take the opportunity to meet and talk with Ron. He is a virtual spring of knowledge! He has been working up my new suspension system and the chats and emails have impressed me to just how much he knows, but also what he knows won't work. The fact that he is focused on designing parts and suspensions for the heavy weights of our PT cars, shows that he is in touch with what we need.

Sorry I'm missing it this year. Got a feeling your going to be their a little longer than you planned!

Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words.

I'm looking forward to talking with guys & gals that stop by the Ridetech booth at SEMA. I'll be there for a short bit on Thursday from 10am to 2pm discussing any suspension topics folks want to learn about.

Ron,

Thanks for helping me with that, uh ... personal problem awhile back. It was the incorrect medication, just like you said.
