My camaro is backfiring during deceleration and between shifts. I have an LS1 w/headers, xpipe, 2chamber flowmasters. Only 4000 miles on the engine which is 5 years old. 2000 of those miles within the last few months. It was not doing this at first, just started last week. No check engine light or any other obvious problems. Power seems good, but compared to my mustang I think my camaro could be down a cylinder and still pull harder:)

Do you have a air leak some where, blown exhaust gaskets???

Thats what it sounds like to me. Check your exhaust system for loose bolts, welds, and blown gaskets.

Problem solved :). I had checked and tightened header bolts, but had missed the bolts at the collectors.

Thanks
