View Full Version : Lets add more attitude to my car

Well lets all agree my car is kinda basic. Thats why I would like to see if anybody would photochop my car. I am open to ideas. I would like to lower my car add a front spoiler/airdam(like Vanzuuk's but flat) and paint my wheels black. Pictures can be found in my sig, but if you would like other angles just say and I will take some more pics.

Black nascar wheels, vintage wheel works(torq thrust style), minilites with some wide rubber.
Extensions on the rear spoiler, two flaps of aluminum or smoked lexan
flat black hood, maybe?
I like the window scoops on steevos car.
I also like the aar style stripe, see if steevo will give you his blessing.
Just some ideas to think about.

It's kinda difficult to "tough up" white. You might check out old Trans-Am cars http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/true1242/album?.dir=49c0&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos http://www.historictransam.com/HistoricPhotos.htm and old nascar photos http://www.nascarillustrated.com/ http://www.theinsidegroove.com/pics/nascar-photo-gallery.php zuuk's suggestions are solid

Yes it is hard to add attitude to white, but it can be done.
Right now my plans are to.
-Paint rims black (the rims are rusting now so something has to be done)
-Hang a airdam/spoiler on the front
-Lower front another 1 inch
-Make a custome gasket for rear spoiler or make a new spoiler out of aluminum to match the front

I would definitly fab up a new rear spoiler to match the one you want on the front, a nice brushed aluminum adjustable one.......black wheels a nice wide flat black strip on the hood and maybe deck and lower it some all the way around!

The easiest way to add attitude is by blacking out the hood and the tops of the fenders. Add a simple piece of brushed aluminum between the taillights--rivets exposed. With the black hood/fender tops, you can add character and depth, by painting the wheels dark silver instead of black.
Consider running just one vintage racing decal per side. The more obscure, the better. Here's an example:

You can mount the decals on magnetic decal sheet available from Moroso.

Well since my car was painted only 2 months ago I dont want to make any major changes to the paint, plus I like it just white. Also the new spoiler is looking like a good option. Could some of you who have a spoiler post some pictures of how it is mounted and the where the adjustible links are placed. The only problem I have with doing one is that the fit and finish wont match the rest of the car.

Wouldn't take much effort at all to scuff and squirt some satin black on the front of the car as Steve suggested.
Tony, when you are doing to photochop try a little something similar to the Boss 302 graphics. Might be bitchin. The whole hood black, but ad the hockey sticks on the sides like this car here.

The Boss I got on the vintage Trans-Am website, the old stock cars are from http://www.nascarillustrated.com/ scroll all the way down and dig the links at the bottom.
How freakin sick is that Chevelle?

I 'chopped one up... just something simple using one of the images from your cardomain page. I decided to go simple... a little flat black paint and a steevo style side stripe with some 18" polished Boyds... simple but certainly more "attitude" than before I think:

Whoa, that looks cool. Grey or black centers on the wheels. And mimic the stripe on the side of the cowl hood, a small version.

Tony- I hope I sent the pictures corectly. I am not the best with computers and was pressed for time(had to leave for school).
Buddha- Those look great, I like the gray center wheels with and the stripe on the hood and side.
Thanks for all the help and keep the ideas coming.

That is the single thing that helped most with this car I think... I've never liked the B pillar being body colored on Novas, and the vent window frame really adds a lot of business too. I also blacked out the wiper arms and flat blacked the grill since it seemed to stand out a bit to much.
It really doesn't take much to make quite a bit of difference and add a ton of uniqueness.

I'm using a cheapo consumer version of Photochop called Elements. It's pretty user friendly compared to Photoshop CS and you can do lots of the same stuff. I think it's like $80 retail, but my copy came included with my Canon scanner (which I love)... the scanner was only $40, so I got the scanner and software for less than the cost of the software. :headbang:

How about the wheels by et, similar to the eleanor rims.

Good deal.
I have another request, could you maby put some mesh style wheels on the car. That would be my first choice in wheels if my pocket is deep enough.

Oh well, dont worry about it.
The first one is good. What kind of wheels are those?
The second one I dont like the stripes but the spoilers are exactly what I am going to do. I ordered the parts for the spoiler and planing on working on that next week as long as school does not get in my way.

I wonder how hard it would be to make the front window like those. Have thought about it before but never knew if it could be done.

Awesome stuff Tony & Buddah. I know Andrew dosen't, but I really dig Tony's striped version.
From the "dare to be different" files....what if you took this pattern:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
...and sorta reversed it? So the stuff that is on the decklid is on the hood and the stripe intersected the body crease and flowed aft?

Wow, I always thought mesh style wheels would look good on my car but now after seeing that pic I am thinking a five spoke wheel(the one in buddha's chop) looks better.
