Well since the forum ate my original post, I thought I would post another update. What started out as a project to add AC and fuel injection evolved into removing the front clip, powder coating the subframe and all the suspension, redoing the aluminum 509 with new AFR heads, valvetrain, coated JE pistons, and a Procharger D1-R. I am also adding vintage air, a hydroboost unit, and completed the DSE coilover conversion. I’m trying to get the subframe back under the body in a few weeks and work on all the details like plumbing and electrical. Hopefully it will be running in six months or so. Thanks for checking it out!

Here are a few of the car before I started the current upgrades. I know, I know, TT2 wheels.....
They were one of the first things I bought over five years ago when I redid the car the first time. Not every other car on the road had them yet.
:banghead:

New wheels will have to wait until my bank account recovers from this round of upgrades.

It is a Merlin Lite aluminum block.

What kind of HP are you expecting?

I am hoping to get into the 800 RWH range.

Mike, that looks awesome....where did the front accessory brackets come from? I like the alt. and a/c mounting.

Randy,

Thanks for the compliment. All of the brackets including the supercharger bracket are custom pieces. I worked with a local machine shop to have them made. After reading about all of the problems people had with the Procharger A/C and Alternator bracket I did not want to use it. The new brackets allow the use of a Sanden 508 compressor with the space-saver head, which is available from Vintage Air.

To hell with that- you could have emergency spares on that thing & it would be bad! The TT2s look great on there.

My 68 Firebird started out the same way- A dropped intake valve on #6. Now it's a complete ground-up job.
