Its good to know that someone else is beating that drum, but honestly? I don't think the masses care. They want "it" cheaper and to perform. There's literally thousands of products on the market that were knocked off of someone's hard work, engineering and time in the due diligence. I see it every year at SEMA and PRI and see what the fall out is the rest of the year. Why do we buy cheap, garbage brake kits? Why do we buy knocked off, junk distributors. Why do we buy the bottom dollar fuel pump and regulators? Why are we encouraging those companies to continue when we buy their half price cylinder heads?

I'd love to say the fault is those thieves that steal some else's work and pumps it into the US. But its not. Its our fault for buying that crap and keeping them in business.

Good read- I don't see it as much of a price issue because the point is that you are still paying for the name. I guess the only thing we can do is go through trusted vendors- but what happens when a master distributor offers them a deal? It's entirely possible your vendor may not know they are buying fakes.

I posted that same Link on a Chevelle Forum where I speaking up against Cheap Chinese A-Arms. I caught all sorts of Flak - you should be selling your stuff that cheap, show us proof of Bad (Steel, Welds, Design), American Companies don't really exist, etc. So when I spoke up about putting Off-Shore Junk on a Classic American Car, I was lambasted by a bunch of Cheap Daredevils!

Its appalling. It puts American workers and companies out of business. I completely understand saving a few dollars here to spend it there. What I don't get is supporting the thief. But apparently that gets over looked when those tubular control arms are half of what the US company is and that some how makes it ok. Its a race to the bottom. We've been in that mode since the mail order companies got big in the early 90s.
